Minerva is placing Allders, the department store chain it bought in February last year, up for auction. Analysts are sceptical about loss-making Allders' chances of attracting a good price. Minerva has itself been up for auction since July and wants to rid itself of Allders because it believes the retailer might be discouraging bidders.
