Claimar Care is to acquire MK Homecare, the Milton Keynes-based domiciliary care provider with 33 care workers, for up to £0.4m. The amount will be settled as a cash payment in full on competion. Claimar currently operates in the North West and Midlands regions, and says that the acquisition of MK Homecare will consolidate its position in the South Midlands as well as gaining contracts with a new local authority. "MK Homecare is the third acquisition to be completed by Claimar since our admission to AIM in January 2006, and represents a further step in the Board's stated strategy of balancing organic and acquisitive growth to maximize shareholder value." said Mark Hales, Claimar chief executive.
