Mondi talking to private equity
22/03/2006
Mondi, the paper and packaging arm of UK mining giant AngloAmerican, is more likely to be in talks with a private equity firm than the Finnish Stora Enso. Paper giant Stora Enso is said to be considering a £4.5bn bid for the unit. It is more likely, however, that Mondi's owners are in talks with large private equity bidders instead and that mentioning Stora Enso could be just a way to raise the asking price.
