New FT CEO prompts speculation of a sale

The appointment of Rona Fairhead as the new CEO of the Financial Times, the UK newspaper group owned by publisher Pearson, has lead to rumours that the paper could be sold. It has been observed that Pearson could sell several of its assets in addtion to the FT, as only its North American educational publishing arm is a core business in terms of profitablilty.
