Northern Foods, one of the largest suppliers to Marks and Spencer, is to sell a string of non core businesses in a bid to concentrate on its chilled food and ready meal operations. Some of the businesses likely to be sold include the NFT distribution company, which mainly provides chilled distribution for J Sainsbury, and Batchelors, the Irish canned food business.
