Northgate Information Solutions Plc, the UK software group which manufactures software for the public services and human resources sectors in addition to running customer IT systems, is considering a sale of its managed services businesses according to reports. The potential disposal has been speculated to be worth up to £150m. The Hemel Hempstead-based company with 2006 revenues of £117m has reportedly been talking to trade buyers. Potential buyers are most likely to include IT services providers such as Computacenter Plc and Fujitsu's IT services business, and possibly telecoms operators looking to find a new source of revenue.
