NTL, the cable TV company, has drawn up a shortlist of five private equity bidders for its £1.2bn broadcast business. A spokeswoman for NTL said the company was examining all strategic options for its broadcast arm. NTL tried and failed to sell the business in 2001 as part of a restructuring. In the first half of the year NTL Broadcast earned £63.5m - around 12 percent of NTL's group revenues.
