Pan Fish, the listed Norwegian fishing company, rejects speculation that its merger with private Dutch fish-farmer, Marine Harvest, could be stopped by UK competition authorities wish to investigate the merger more closely. Pan Fish has announced that it may have to sell off parts of Marine Harvest's British fish farming operations in order to appease the competition authorities. The merger would give the new company a market share of 50% in Scotland within fish farming. Pan Fish has a market capitalisation of EUR 2.9bn.
