UK private equity company Permira has expressed interest in joining the forthcoming £1.4bn auction for Netherlands-based cable company Casema. Casema is owned by Carlyle, Providence and GMT, who bought the company for euro 665m in 2003 from France Telecom. The sale memorandum is expected to be released within the next few weeks. Others tipped to be interested buyers are Liberty Global, whose owner John Malone also attempted to buy Casema in 2002, Essent Kabelcom, Multikabel, European investment company Cinven and cable operatior Altice.
