Planned Maintenance Engineering - Business Sale

Planned Maintenance Engineering (PME), the UK-based buildings management group, has appointed Grant Thornton to handle the company's sale, according to reports. McAlpine, Interserve and Carillion, the UK-listed construction groups, were mentioned as potential buyers for the company, which has an estimated price tag of GBP 50m. PME founder Tony Stevens stands to make more than £40m from the sale. PME posted a pre-tax profit of £2.3m for 2003
