PPL Therapeutics - Division Sale
29/12/2003
THE laboratory where Dolly the sheep was created is to be sold off. The Roslin building, which has been operated by PPL Therapeutics as its head office and laboratory facility in the UK, is being sold for £1.24 million. The firm has entered into a conditional agreement to sell the office and laboratory building at Roslin, Midlothian, along with related ground and some items of lab equipment, to the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC). The decision to sell was taken by PPL as it struggles to balance the books for its shareholders. The firm was put up for sale in November after abandoning its one remaining interest - a wound sealant called Fibrin-1.
