AT Communications has acquired Rocom, the telecoms equipment supplier with offices in Wetherby, London and Manchester, for £17.6m in cash. Rocom serves the corporate, re-seller and distribution markets and has 30,000 customers including Lloyds TSB, Sainsburys, Comet, Amazon, Telewest and HP. It has nearly 200 employees. The deal will be financed through a new arrangement with Barclays Bank and a vendor placing of 7,291,667 new ordinary shares at 48 pence per share with certain institutional investors. Rocom will continue to trade under its own name. AT Communications chief executive Alex Tupman commented: "We believe that Rocom will help to accelerate the growth of the combined group through cross-selling opportunities based on a wider and complementary suite of products and by extending our industry partnerships."
