Royal & Sun Alliance is likely to sell its UK life business, although a deal is not imminent, according to a source close to the situation. It is believed that there are three or four interested parties. The sale could raise up to £600m. The group had also been considering securitising the future cashflow of the unit as bonds to raise capital but this option is now unlikely.
