The sale of Trinity Mirror's Midlands and Southern regional newspaper divisions is reportedly set to begin this week. The divisions were put up for sale, along with the Racing Post, as a result of a strategic review by Rothschild. Rothschild will now handle the sale process. The regional newpaper divisions and the Racing Post have collectively been valued at around £500m, and potential bidders include Johnson Press, Archant, Daily Mail & General Trust and DC Thompson for the regional newspapers, and Montagu Private Equity, RCS and various gambling firms for the Racing Post.
