Scottish fabricator up for sale
08/01/2007
Stephen Clark Fabrications, the sheet metal fabricator based in Scotland, has been put up for sale after the loss of two of its key clients forced the firm into administration.

Administrators PriceWaterhouseCoopers said that the company failed to recover during 2006 after its largest client switched to in-house production, and its second-largest put its new product line out to tender.

Established in 1947, Stephen Clark has a 35,000 sq. ft manufacturing facility in Alloa, Scotland, and employs 25 people. The current company was formed in 2005, when the business and assets were acquired out of administration from the predecessor company.

PriceWaterhouseCoopers intend to sell the business as a going concern, with joint administrator Graham Martin commenting that “the business and assets would be of interest to companies in the same industry who require additional capacity and/ or orders to add to their existing operations.”
