Smart Telecom, the AIM-listed Irish telecommunications company, is expected to dispose of several of its non-core assets including its phonecards business. Trading in Smart Telecom's shares was temporarily suspended on 3rd October after it agreed a refinancing deal to prevent liquidation over the company's debts, which are thought to be as much as £4m. Terms of the deal include a cash injection from several major shareholders including Brendan Murtagh, and de-listing from AIM.
