Smiths Group, the owners of specialist manufacturer of industrial seals and piping business John Crane, is reportedly in discussions with the investment firm group Melrose regarding a potential sale of the business. The the UK-listed engineering firm is understood to have attracted several potential bidders contemplating offers for its assets. The group is expected to announce a review of the business, with the possibility of a break-up or the sale of certain assets, very shorlty.
