10/04/2007
UK supermarket group Somerfield has attracted talk of a potential sale, after chairman John Lovering remarked that "we are unashamedly growing a business that will be attractive to anyone who wants a 1,000 convenience-store business in the UK," adding "I have no idea when they will bang on my door with a big enough bag of money". Owners Robert Tchenguiz, Barclays Capital and Apax Partners have been considering a possible refinancing of the company, according to reports.
