Stead & Simpson, the UK shoe retailer, is undertaking a strategic review with Clearwater Corporate Finance as adviser, a move which in turn could lead to an IPO or a trade sale of the group. Valuation estimates have been between £90m and £100m. The groups chairman John Shannon has said that a private equity purchase would be a likely outcome.
