Talisman Energy, the Canadian oil and gas company, is to sell its non-core assets in the Brae area of the UK North Sea. The assets consist of an 18% interest in the South, North, Central, West Brae and Beinn fields, a 16.9% interest in the East Brae field, a 13% interest in the Braemar field and a 9% interest in the SAGE pipeline and terminal. Talisman intends to use the proceeds from the sales to repurchase its own shares.
