Thomas Group, the UK leisure group, has been put up for sale after a number of approaches from interested parties. The family business, run by father and son Jimmy and Simon Thomas, owns a number of bingo halls around the UK under the brand names Beacon Bingo and Showboat. Close Brothers have been appointed to handle the sale, which has a £100m pricetag. The company was established by Jimmy Thomas with a single club in Loughborough in 1996.
