Travel Lodge could be sold by Permira
06/01/2006
Travelodge, the UK hotel chain, could see owner Permira try to sell the group with a price tag of £1.1bn according to reports. If an the auction proceeds, a likely participant in any auction might be Premier Travel Inns, a comparable but bigger hotel group owned by Whitbread. Such a buy would spawn a £3bn group that could spark the interest of the Office of Fair Trading according to analysts. Permira bought Travelodge in 2003.
