Telephonetics is to acquire Voice Integrated Products, the Poole-based computer telephony company with 64 staff, for £12m. Total consideration of the acquisition is approximately £11.9m, comprising approximately £5.9m in cash and 24.8 million shares, valued at approximately £6m. Telephonetics listed the following reasons for the proposed acquisition: To continue establishing Telephonetics as the UK's leading telephony speech solutions provider; To become the market leader for ASR telephony products, giving the combined business scale in a fast growing market; VIP has a large customer base, together with established sales channels, into which Telephonetics can deploy its ASR products; Enable VIP to offer hosted services to its clients; and Create a balanced mix of hosted services and premise-based products.
