Volution Holdings, a Montagu Private Equity-backed air movement company formerly part of Smiths Group, is expected to be put up for sale in 2006. According to figures registered at the UK's Companies House, Volution produced a loss of £1.5m for the year ending 31 Jul 2005, an improvement on 2004 when it registered a loss was of £4.7m. Volution had a turnover of £115m at the time Montagu acquired it but this has since fallen to £98.5m for year ending 31 Jul 2005. The decline can be accounted for in part by the fact that in May 2003 it sold off Airstream, its washroom rentals division, for £25m. Volution comprises brands such as Vent-Axia (ventilation), Kopex and Adaptaflex (ducting and fittings for electrical cables).
