Zurich Financial Services, Europe's third-largest insurer, has put Dunbar Bank, a specialist lending business, up for sale with a price tag of about £150m. The insurer, which owns Allied Dunbar and Eagle Star, the British insurers, is understood to have called in Hawkpoint, the investment bank, last month to sell Dunbar Bank. Bankers say that around five financial groups, including Close Brothers, the London-listed investment bank, are thought to be interested in bidding.
