Wincanton is to acquire RDL Holdings, the provider of supply chain services to the building industry with 350 staff at 38 sites, for £22m. The deal consists of a debt-free initail consideration of £22m which will be followed by a further payment of up to £5m subject to the achievement of financial targets by 31 December 2007. The company has also acquired Bristol based home delivery company Lane for up to £2m, which includes the assumption of around £6m of debt. Graham McFaull, chief executive of Wincanton, commented: “Wincanton has a strong track record of growing both organically and through acquisition. Wincanton is to acquire Lane Group Plc, the Bristol-based home delivery company, for up to £2m plus the assumption of £6m of debt. The acquisition will be financed from existing banking facilities. Lane employs 750 workers at 15 sites across the UK and has a fleet of 330 vehicles. Customers include Bosch, Electrolux, Homebase and Magnet. Wincanton announced the acquisition in conjunction with that of RDL Holdings, the provider of supply chain services to the building industry with 350 staff at 38 sites, for £22m.
