Tue, 27 Oct 2009: The Fifty casino, a magnet for the rich and famous, has been placed on the market for about £10m. Gaming at the casino has been suspended to avoid difficult trading issues while the owner works out the complicated terms of the sale. Fifty, which is comprised of bars, restaurants, club room and casino, is owned by London Clubs International and Planet Hollywood's Robert Earl. The venue's history dates back to 1827, with early regulars including the Duke of Wellington. More recently the casino has been frequented by Sir Philip Green, retail magnate, and celebrities from the film industry and the City. London Clubs International is owned by US gambling giant Harrah's, and is one of the biggest casino operators in the UK. It also owns The Rendezvous, The Casino at The Empire in Central London...
