Anite looking to make disposals
18/12/2007

UK-listed IT services company Anite is conducting a strategic review which could lead to disposals. Financial advisors Cazenove and Landsbanki have been retained to assist with the process.

Steve Rowley, Chief Executive of Anite said "Anite has a robust balance sheet and is in sound financial health. We have, however, been aware for some time that the ownership of several businesses has led to a stock market valuation that reflects a structural discount. We aretherefore working actively, with our advisors, to explore a variety of strategic alternatives to remove or at least significantly reduce the scale of this discount."

It was said by a company spokesperson that "disposals could be one of those alternatives".

Anite has clearly stated that its wireless division constitutes its core business, but has declined to comment on which divisions may be candidates for such a disposal.

It is thought that Anite is most likely to sell its public sector division.
