Anite may sell off public services division
14/05/2008

Anite, the UK-based IT solutions company, is currently undergoing a strategic review of its public services division.

Anite has been assessing options for its public services division since late last year. It is thought that the company would be easier to sell after a break-up.

The company has also been considering an approach made by an interested and anonymous party recently. It has been speculated that the interested party might be Civica, a competitor to Anite, or Alchemy, the UK-based buy-out group.

It is understood that Anite does not intend on responding immediately to the approach. It appears that Anite will complete the review before making any further decisions on the approach.

There is likely to be several suitors for the public services division of Anite.

Anite develops and installs software, as well as offering consultancy, systems integration and managed services to the private and public sector. The company has about 1,300 staff in Europe, Asia and America. Clients include Tameside Council and Centerparcs.
