Description
This most interesting business has gained a leading position in the market for designing, manufacturing and installing raising and lowering equipment for chandeliers and other, principally, lighting systems. Both manually and electrically operated winch systems are available capable of lifting loads in excess of 2,000kgs. The central component is available in two sizes: up to 100kgs and between 100-560kgs. This unique assembly locks the fitting in the fully raised position and provides power to the fitting through knife & spring contacts. As the fitting/chandelier is lowered it is automatically unlocked and the supply is isolated. The company, founded in 1992, has its offices and a small manufacturing and assembly facility located rurally near Lichfield – it is expected that the new owner will wish to relocate the business. The customer list includes The Royal Palaces, Museums and Galleries. In addition, the company installs its systems in hotels, the larger high street stores. However, with increasing health & safety regulations there is increasing demand for lowering and raising systems in more mundane office and factory environments. In the year to May 2007 sales were £595k and the adjusted operating profit was £85k. The company has a good balance sheet with net assets in excess of £140k. The Guide Price for this business is £325,000 for 100% of the shares on a ‘debt-free, cash-free. The business will be of particular interest to companies within the facilities maintenance sector and/or which are already providing services to the great buildings. It will also appeal to an engineering professional who would like his/her own business.
