Administrators optimistic for sale of drivebusiness
Wed, 05 Oct 2011

The administrators of Scottish eCommerce agency, drivebusiness, have said they are confident of establishing a way for the business to continue, after it entered administration at the end of last week.

The company, which was headquartered in North Ayrshire but also has operations in London and Glasgow, is now in the hands of administrators from financial services firm, Grant Thornton. A number of staff have already been made redundant as part of the process, but there is confidence that a buyer will be found for the business.

Creative media news site, The Drum, reported a Grant Thornton spokesman as saying that efforts were now being made to maintain the business.

"I can confirm that a number of redundancies have been made," the spokesman said. "I can also confirm that the administrators have secured the support of customers to enable the business to continue to trade."

The company carried out online marketing work for some top international fashion brands, including AllSaints, Ted Baker and Gant. It was founded in 2005 by the husband-and-wife team of directors, Stephen and Moira Ritchie.

drivebusiness fell into administration just a year after it was 'mistakenly' liquidated by HM Revenue & Customs following a clerical error.
