Administrators are looking for a buyer for the popular Tricky’s Hotel in Redruth in Cornwall, after its operator collapsed
into administrations.
The popular hotel, restaurant and events venue was put up for sale after administrators were appointed to its parent company, Tricky’s Cornwall. Robin Allen and Richard Hawes from Deloitte are understood to be orchestrating the search for a buyer.
The hotel is an 18-bedroom venue that, as well as the restaurant, also hosts a hair and beauty salon and gym. It is a popular local choice for weddings in the Redruth area and the administrators are looking to keep the business trading while a buyer is sought.
Mr Allen, a partner in Deloitte’s restructuring services team, said, “Following our appointment as administrator to Tricky’s Cornwall, we have been working closely with staff to maintain a state of business as usual for the hotel’s current guests. Our primary aim is to ensure that the hotel and its facilities are able to operate as normal while we seek a buyer.”
He added that the opportunities afforded by Cornwall’s tourism industry would likely draw interest from a number of potential investors in the business and they would be keen to speak to people looking to take it on as a going concern.
