Amadeus Associates International, the Wales-based manufacturer of baby cups and bowls, has entered administration with the loss of 26 out of 33 jobs.
The administrators at Grant Thornton are now working with the new management team to protect the company's future. Alistair Wardell of Grant Thornton said they are in talks with several interested parties and potential investors to sell the business.
The company produces a wide range of cups and bowls for babies and toddlers including the well-known Anyway Up cup, the 360º and Cow Cups and its Always Learning range of products.
The general reduction in consumer spending has been blamed for the firm's collapse, which had been one of the fastest growing companies in the 1990s.
Its revenues had increased by 924% over three years, with the workforce expanding from six to over 100 by 1999.
Amadeus Associates International took over the business and assets following the purchase of the founding company V&A Marketing four years ago.
The firm was founded in 1988, producing non-spill drinking vessels for infants, and the products were included on the Millennium Products list compiled by the Design Council.
