Direct Golf UK has rescued the Cambridge Golf & Conference Centre out of administration.
The owner of the golf course, TP Golf Management Ltd,
entered administration earlier on this month. Begbies Traynor managed the administration process and put up the
golf course for sale.
The Huntingdon-based centre, which is also known as Hemingford Abbots Golf Complex, has a nine-hole golf course, a 38-bay driving range and an all-weather short game area. It also has a golfing academy with PGA qualified teachers.
Its purpose-built conference facility caters for up to 200 people and has parking for 105 cars. The site also includes the Abbots Brasserie and Bar.
Direct Golf UK managing director Neil Bell said: ‘The opportunity to acquire Cambridge Golf & Conference Centre was too good to miss.”
“With first class conference and meeting facilities, as well as the superb golf offering, I am confident the site will become a flagship complex for Direct Golf UK.”
The purchase has secured the positions of all 25 employees at the Cambridge Golf & Conference Centre.
TP Golf Management Ltd has not submitted its turnover figure to Companies House for the past three years but has total fixed assets of £3.7 million.
Direct Golf UK has 15 golfing retail stores in the UK.
