Anglo-Dutch publishing group Reed Elsevier has announced its intention to "quit" the defence exhibitions sector following protests. "Our defense shows are quality businesses which have performed well in recent years," said Chief Executive Crispin Davis. "Nonetheless, it has become increasingly clear that growing numbers of important customers and authors have very real concerns about our involvement in the defense exhibitions business." The company is reportedly now planning to sell its defence conferences business, which accounts for 0.5% of group turnover, contributing between £20m to £25m.
