Quayle Munro to acquire Van Tulleken
14/04/2008

Edinburgh-based Quayle Munro is due to announce the acquisition of van Tulleken, the group of corporate finance advisers specialising in media, information and technology. This move will increase Quayle Munro's sector coverage and provide it with a presence in America.

Van Tulleken, based in London, was founded in 1995 by Kit van Tulleken, a former executive of Time-Life Books. She continues to run the the business and controls it in partnership with the managing director, Andrew Adams.

Peter Norris, the head of Barings' investment bank at the time of its downfall in 1995, has been the chief executive of Quayle Munro, the Aim-listed financial services group for nine months.

Mr Norris joined Quayle Munro after it purchased New Boathouse Capital, the boutique he set up in 2000. The business covers corporate finance, fund management and principal investments.

Mr Norris commented that he will expect independent investment banks to perform well relative to their larger competitors as corporate activity weakened. However, he said there were no definite plans for further deals.
