One of Scotland's longest established building companies, Watson Construction Group, has gone into administration.
The group, which provides general construction and engineering services, has appointed Kroll to handle the administration process. Kroll have reportedly begun to assess Watson's finances.
In 2005 Watson's turnover was £14.9m, and £12.6m in 2004.
Watson Construction, which has its headquarters in West Calder and an office in Manchester, has three divisions, Watson Construction, Watson Stonecraft and Scottish Natural Stones.
Watson was established in 1870 as an independent Scottish company. Its original name was W&JR Watson.
Projects that Watson Construction have been involved in include the build of the Clock Tower industrial estate in South Gyle, Edinburgh, the Princes Gate development in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, as well as various other restoration projects involving intricate stone work.
