A major private label food producer has fallen into administration, with a buyer now being sought for the business and its assets, including a fully fitted and equipped factory.
Woking-based Fairoak Foods Limited, which was established in 2011, is a premium private-label food producer specialising in small batch cooking. The company manufactures a range of products including vegan soups, pastas and stews for an established customer base including national retailers, brands and food service operators.
Despite falling into administration, no staff have been made redundant at the 60-strong company, which had faced significant cashflow issues.
A joint administrator for Fairoak Foods said that the company was “recognised as a premium private-label manufacturer of high-quality, chef-led food and should attract significant interest, despite having to cease to trade, due to the company’s cashflow issues.”
The administrator stated that the company had “an experienced management team with deep sector knowledge and strong customer relationships” and that the assets available included its “fully fitted and equipped factory extending to c.6,700 sq ft, with a modern range of machinery and equipment.”
They added that the business “partners with leading retailers and brands to deliver restaurant-quality products at scale” and “therefore represents an attractive opportunity to acquire an established manufacturing facility with strong industry relationships.”
In accounts for the year to March 31 2025, Fairoak Foods Limited's fixed assets were valued at £745,507 and current assets at close to £1.2 million, with net assets amounting to approximately £100,000.
