Opportunity to acquire business and assets of Falkirk engineering firms

Administrators are seeking buyers for the business and assets of a pair of engineering, fabrication and construction firms based in Falkirk following their collapse last week.

AIM Engineering & Fabrication Group Limited and Hescott Engineering Company Limited fell into administration on May 15 2026 and have now ceased to trade, with 93 employees made redundant.

The companies operated from Falkirk and Larbert, providing steel and metalwork design, engineering, fabrication, construction and industrial services, as well as site installation. They worked across sectors including construction, industrial processing, petrochemical and oil and gas, with a tier one customer base.

According to the administrators, the companies had faced challenging trading conditions over recent times, in common with other organisations operating within the building and construction supply chain. These issues were subsequently compounded by the loss of a major customer.

Despite taking steps to address these challenges, the financial position of both companies was said to have become unsustainable, resulting in directors deciding to place them into administration.

One of the joint administrators commented: “These administrations come against a backdrop of sustained turbulence across the construction and engineering supply chain, where rising costs, tightening margins and the loss of key contracts have created acute financial strain.”

The joint administrators have urged any parties interested in acquiring the companies’ business and/or assets to contact them as soon as possible.

In accounts for the year to June 30 2025, AIM Engineering & Fabrication Group Limited’s fixed assets were valued at around £3 million and current assets at £4 million, with net assets amounting to just under £1.7 million.

In accounts covering the period from January 1 2024 to June 30 2025, meanwhile, Hescott Engineering Company Limited reported turnover of £14.3 million, compared to around £11.1 million in the preceding period, but saw its operating profits fall from approximately £1.9 million to slightly over £991,000.

At the time, its fixed assets were valued at £145,000 and current assets at around £12.4 million, with net assets amounting to over £9 million.
