A group operating a chain of pharmacies in Scotland is set to be sold after its holding company was placed into administration. Amiry & Gilbride Healthcare Limited (AGH) fell into administration on April 29, 2026, following an order from the Court of Session in Scotland.
Headquartered in Glasgow, AGH is the holding company for LP North 14 Limited and LP North 15 Limited. The two subsidiaries operate 13 pharmacies and two Health & Beauty retail/prescription collection units across Scotland, providing services including prescription locker collections and a free medicine pouching service.
The company was established in February 2023 through the merger of two established operators of a number of pharmacies. The group was incorporated to acquire pharmacy assets linked to the break-up of one the UK’s largest operators, with industry reports linking this to stores previously operated by LloydsPharmacy.
While administrators have been appointed to the group’s holding company, neither of its two subsidiaries have been placed into administration, with the pharmacies operated by these businesses continuing to trade as normal.
Following their appointment, the joint administrators say they have established a new governance structure for AGH’s subsidiaries, which will operate under director John Gilbride and his team.
The joint administrators added in a statement: "The joint administrators will work with John and his team to gain a clear understanding of the financial position of the AGH group. Once complete they will then look to sell the group via a marketing process. Interested parties are encouraged to make contact with the joint administrators without delay."
In group accounts for the period to July 31 2024, Amiry & Gilbride Healthcare Limited reported turnover of around £13.4 million, while falling to an operating loss of close to £2.2 million.
At the time, its fixed assets were valued at approximately £10 million and current assets at £3.3 million. Net liabilities, however, totalled around £2.2 million.
