Bulmer & Lumb Group Limited - August 25
Bulmer & Lumb Group Limited, a North Yorkshire-based textiles manufacturer, fell into administration last month, with administrators now seeking a buyer for the company’s assets, which include specialsing dyeing plant and equipment.
Dating back to the 1960s, the Bradford-based company supplied to Savile Row, high street fashion brands, the military and emergency services, as well as the automotive and aviation industries.
Despite its prominent, longstanding position in the industry, however, the firm was hit by increased production costs which led to ongoing losses. A sale process was undertaken, but no credible offers were received and the company ceased trading and was placed into administration.
In accounts for the year to September 30 2024, Bulmer & Lumb Group Limited’s fixed assets were valued at £1.7 million and current assets at £2.5 million, with net assets amounting to £2.5 million.
