SCG, a provider of an integrated technology offering to UK businesses, has secured a significant investment from Providence Equity Partners to support its ongoing acquisition strategy.
SCG supports around 35,000 businesses across the UK, providing an integrated technology offering that covers mobile, broadband, IT services, cybersecurity and cloud communications.
The firm is said to have developed a strong reputation for quality customer services and sector-specific expertise, with proprietary technology platforms tailored to uses including GP practices, SMEs and schools.
This offering is complemented by a broader portfolio of connectivity and managed IT services, tailored to the changing needs of UK companies. With the acceleration of AI adoption, demand for strategic communications will increase, while AI-enabled capabilities will simultaneously enhance the company’s proprietary solutions.
The company’s customers span a wide array of industries, including professional services, construction, healthcare, education and hospitality. Its offering helps customers to manage mission-critical communications and technology via a single partner.
SCG has grown through a combination of M&A activity and organic growth, with the new investment from Providence set to support the company’s ongoing disciplined acquisition strategy.
Michaël Vervisch, Managing Director at Providence Equity Partners, said: "We believe SCG has established itself as a trusted IT and communications partner to thousands of UK SMEs through their customer service, deep sector expertise and mission-critical communications infrastructure. As SMEs increasingly look for reliable experts with a comprehensive offering to manage their communications and technology needs, we expect demand for integrated connectivity, cloud communications and managed IT services to continue to grow.”
Post-transaction, Daryl Pile (pictured) will continue as SCG Chief Executive, with founder Paul Bradford taking on the role of President and board member. The company’s management team will also reinvest alongside Providence, reinforcing their commitment to its long-term growth strategy.
Daryl Pile said: "This is an exciting milestone for SCG. We've spent decades building trusted relationships with our customers by helping them navigate changes in technology while delivering the service and reliability they depend upon every day. We're excited to work with Providence as we continue to invest in our people, our technology and the customers we serve."
Paul Bradford added: "SCG has always been focused on helping customers adapt as technology evolves while maintaining exceptional service. I'm delighted to remain actively involved within the business and will support the next stage of its growth alongside Providence and the management team."
