Dual Seal Glass Limited, a Huddersfield-based glass processing business, has been acquired in a pre-pack administration deal. The company, which was incorporated in 1995 and generated turnover of around £13 million, has been acquired by Commercial Glass Specialists Ltd following a competitive bidding process.
Dual Seal Glass employed around 90 staff at its Huddersfield facility and specialised in processing high-performance insulated glass panels for the construction sector.
However, the company had faced major financial challenges, including bad debts, rising costs, historic product liability claims and supply chain issues.
As a result of these issues, the firm fell into administration on June 29 2026, with Sean Williams and Phil Deyes of Leonard Curtis appointed as joint administrators. On the same day, the joint administrators concluded a pre-pack sale to Commercial Glass Specialists, maximising asset value and ensuring business continuity.
Sean Williams said: "The pre-pack solution facilitates a quick sale of assets, preserves employment, and achieves better creditor outcomes. It means the business can continue trading, maintain its customer relationships and retain goodwill. The approach also minimises disruption by transferring staff under TUPE regulations."
The joint administrators instructed independent agent Cerberus Group to value Dual Seal Glass and its assets, with marketing for the business and assets carried out prior to the administration. Following a competitive bidding process, Commercial Glass emerged as the successful buyer.
Shazad Hussain, Managing Director of Commercial Glass, stated: "We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of the Dual Seal Glass business out of administration and secured the future of the business and its staff. We shall be investing in the business going forwards and look forward to working with our stakeholders."
In Dual Seal Glass Limited’s most recent accounts at Companies House, for the year to December 31 2023, the company’s fixed assets were valued at £614,000 and current assets at £8.1 million, while net assets totalled around £6 million.
