Acquisition creates “significant” specialist recruitment business

Sphere Solutions has acquired Kenton Black Group in a deal described as creating a “significant” new force in specialist recruitment. The combined business will have broader capabilities, a strengthened offering for both clients and candidates and enhanced national reach.

Birmingham-headquartered Kenton Black was established in 2008 and has built a nationwide presence across construction, engineering and a range of professional services. In addition to its Midlands headquarters, the company operates from a network of national offices in Liverpool, Leeds, Aberdeen, Dundee and Worcester.

Sphere Solutions, which was founded in 2005, is a specialist construction sector recruiter. The company has offices across Wales and England, including in Cardiff, London, Manchester, Bristol, Gloucester, Plymouth, Truro, Taunton and Southampton.

The acquisition brings together expertise covering commercial construction, civils and infrastructure, residential housing, retail and fit-out and mechanical and electrical (M&E), while creating a stronger platform to generate future growth.

Post-acquisition, the businesses have said that they will focus on integration, collaboration and continuity, in order to ensure that employees, candidates and clients benefit from the expanded network, increased opportunities and deeper sector knowledge delivered via the transaction.
