Leeds-headquartered built environment TICC (testing, inspection, certification and compliance) consultancy enevo has completed its third acquisition of the year so far, with a deal for Aegis Services Ltd.
The addition of Preston-headquartered Aegis Services brings an experienced CDM Principal Designer capability into the group, as well as construction-phase health & safety and risk management consultancy.
The acquisition follows enevo’s recent takeovers of Environmental Noise Solutions Ltd (ENS), Element Sustainability and JM Partnership Surveyors Ltd. The deals were supported by a pair of seven-figure revolving credit arrangements from Santander UK in November 2025 and April 2026.
Through its buy-and-build growth strategy, enevo has expanded its capabilities across sustainability, construction health and safety and acoustic consultancy. This expansion has enabled the firm to offer a holistic suite of services, covering early-stage planning and environmental assessment through to health and safety and operational compliance.
Founded by Mark Heptonstall and Oliver Bentley in Leeds in 2010, enevo has expanded from two offices to ten, with its headcount now standing at 120. In addition to its Leeds HQ, enevo has offices across the UK in Chatham, Chester, Derby, Doncaster, Littlehampton, London, Manchester, Newton Aycliffe and Preston.
The acquisition of Chester-based Element Sustainability brought energy and environmental assessment expertise into the group, including BREEAM advisory work. The purchase of Doncaster-based Environmental Noise Solutions (ENS), meanwhile, added further specialist capability in noise, vibration and acoustic consultancy into its offering, helping the firm to tap into an area of growing importance within the planning system.
Chief Executive and co-founder Mark Heptonstall said that the firm’s acquisitions had strengthened its capacity “to support clients across the full lifecycle of a project, particularly as regulatory requirements continue to evolve.”
He continued: "Bringing together complementary technical disciplines allows us to deliver more coordinated, practical compliance support at all stages; from planning to construction and post-occupation.”
"Each business adds depth in areas where demand is increasing - from sustainability and energy performance through to construction risk and acoustic compliance - while reinforcing our regional delivery across the country."
Andy King, Relationship Director at Santander UK, added: “Over the past 2 years, we've developed a strong and collaborative relationship with the team, and we have great confidence in their vision for the business. We look forward to supporting enevo as it continues to scale nationally and further establish its position as a leader in the sector."
