Aerospace engineering firm acquired by Indian group in £11.89m deal

Bromford Precision Solutions Limited, a Leicester-headquartered aerospace engineering firm, has been acquired by Indian aerospace group Sigma Advanced Systems in a deal worth £11.89 million.

Bromford Precision Solutions specialises in manufacturing complex aerospace ring components, as well as other complex precision-machined aeroengine structures such as compressor casings, ducts, brackets, and lock plates.

Founded in 1988, the company has grown to become a significant operator in the UK aerospace sector and is backed by approvals from OEMs including Siemens and Rolls-Royce.

In the year to April 30 2025, the company reported turnover of around £13.5 million, up from £8.5 million a year earlier. Gross profits, meanwhile, rose from £3 million to £5.5 million, with the acquisition fee representing approximately a 2.1x multiple of its latest gross profits.

The acquisition is described as a significant milestone in Sigma’s international growth strategy, bolstering the group’s position within the Rolls-Royce supply chain, as well as complementing its existing UK division, Nasmyth Group.

Post-acquisition, Sigma says it plans to transition select component manufacturing processes to India, mirroring the group’s model of optimising costs and enhancing competitiveness in order to drive margin expansion.
