Systems integrator TXP has expanded with the acquisition of AWS Select Tier Services partner Vigil for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition brings a strong roster of clients and close to 100 additional staff into TXP’s tech workforce.
Vigil has deep expertise in AWS-based cloud transformation, software engineering and tech advisory services. Headquartered in the UK, Vigil’s dedicated technology team is largely based in Portugal and Brazil. The company’s clients include Trainline, Convex, ITV and DC Thomson Group.
The acquisition complements and further expands TXP’s existing cloud skills and service delivery capabilities. Furthermore, the addition of Vigil’s software engineering capability will bolster the firm’s nearshore and offshore offering, while supporting its strategy of providing value for money without compromising service quality.
Following the acquisition, Vigil CEO Phil Wright (pictured above, left, with TXP CEO John Antunes), along with his senior management team, are remaining with the business and will work closely alongside TXP and Aliter to deliver ambitious growth plans.
John Antunes, CEO at TXP, commented: “Our acquisition of Vigil is an important part of our strategy to comprehensively meet the needs of our existing and future clients. Vigil’s best in class AWS skills dovetail with our existing Microsoft capabilities, meaning we can now offer customers more choice and expanded technical expertise."
“This promises to open up a broad range of new opportunities, as we help organisations to modernise their businesses at scale and pace.”
Aliter partner Greig Brown said: “This latest acquisition by TXP is another significant step forward in realising our ambitions for this truly exciting business. Vigil is a great fit and culturally very similar to TXP, whilst adding a wealth of specialist skills and experience to the group. We are very much looking forward to working with the team at TXP on the next stage of the company’s growth and development.”
TXP is backed by Aliter Capital, a private equity buy and build specialist operating in the UK support services sector. TXP is a systems integrator specialising in tech consulting, resourcing and development.
The company’s takeover of Vigil, its fourth acquisition, aligns with Aliter Capital’s M&A strategy of building a leading UK digital transformation provider. The private equity firm is now focused on adding additional relevant skills and capabilities to TXP through both organic and acquisitive growth.
