A leading business supplies firm is set to acquire a counterpart in a deal that will create a combined group with turnover of more than £22 million. Heatons Group Limited has agreed to acquire D3 Office Group, with the firm set to join from April 1 2026.
Founded in 1988 and based in Hull and Leeds, D3 Office Group has established itself as a leading supplier of office equipment, furniture, workwear and print across the North of England. The company, which has grown through both organic expansion and acquisitions, generates annual sales of around £8 million.
Heatons Group was founded in 1986 and has locations across Merseyside, Cumbria and Cheshire. One of the UK’s leading business supplies dealers, the group’s offering includes business supplies, office interiors, design & print, workwear & PPE, facilities supplies and promotional gifts.
In the year to the end of March 31 2025, the group reported turnover of slightly more than £15 million, up from £14.7 million a year earlier, while gross profits remained steady at around £5.7 million.
David Fielding, Managing Director of Heatons Group, said that the two companies had worked together on many projects over the past 20 years and that the acquisition “brings together complementary strengths, purchasing consolidation and synergy that will enhance our offering going forward.”
D3 Office Group Managing Director Martin Shaw added: "I have always admired Dave Fielding and his team at Heatons. They are leaders in their field in IT systems and customer processes and will bring a great deal to D3's clients and team. We will have a busy March preparing the business for its transfer to Heatons from April. Thereafter, we look forward to bringing greater products and services to our long-standing and loyal customers.”
"Both D3 locations in Hull and Leeds and the whole D3 team will remain with the enlarged business."
