The Oakwood Care Group has expanded its portfolio of care homes in South Wales with the acquisition of Forest Gate Health Care Limited. The deal comprises three care homes across South Wales and expands Oakwood Care Group’s portfolio to five homes.
Forest Gate Health Care operates Woffington House, Ty Ross Nursing Home and Oakdale Manor, with all three facilities providing dementia and elderly care.
Founded by Richard Hutchinson more than 25 years ago, Forest Gate Health Care provides care services across Wales. Over recent years, the company’s leadership has transferred to Richard Hutchinson’s son Ian Hutchinson.
Following a successful operation of more than two decades within the Welsh healthcare sector, the Hutchinson family decided to sell the business. The sale represents a strategic decision, enabling the outgoing owners to pursue both retirement and other business ventures.
Richard and Ian Hutchinson, former owners of Forest Gate Health Care Limited, said: "Having started the business over two decades ago, this was an important decision for our family. We are proud of what has been achieved and confident that Oakwood is the right partner to take the business forward."
A confidential sale process for Forest Gate Health Care was led by Oliver McCarthy at Christie & Co, resulting in the sale of the business to Oakwood Care Group for an undisclosed price. The deal represents the third acquisition that Oakwood Care Group has completed through Christie & Co.
Kuljit Grewal - CEO at The Oakwood Group, said: "Forest Gate Health Care Ltd is an excellent addition to our portfolio, and we look forward to continuing the success that Richard and Ian have built over many years."
Oliver McCarthy, director - Care at Christie & Co, added: "Forest Gate is a well-established and highly regarded business, and this transaction demonstrates the continued demand for quality care operators. We wish both the Hutchinson family and the Oakwood Care Group every success in their respective future ventures."
