Chattertons Solicitors & Wealth Management has continued its expansion across Lincolnshire and the East Midlands with its latest acquisition. The acquisition of Double & Megson Solicitors, which is to take effect on July 1 2026, adds two Lincolnshire offices to Chattertons’ regional network.
Post-acquisition, Double & Megson’s offices in Bourne and Market Deeping will operate under the Chattertons brand, with all existing teams remaining in place, in order to support continuity for clients during the transition.
The deal will also see Double & Megson’s current owners, Richard Wood and Shanta Shah, join Chattertons as consultants.
Double & Megson, which was founded in 1978, provides community-focused legal services throughout the region. The firm’s integration into Chattertons will provide its clients with access to an expanded range of services, including independent financial advice, commercial and private client legal support and specialist tax planning.
Richard Ludlow, CEO of Chattertons, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Richard Wood, Shanta Shah and the wider Double & Megson team to Chattertons. Their longstanding local relationships and commitment to client care align perfectly with our values.”
“Having offices in Bourne and Market Deeping was a natural geographical fit for us, taking account of our existing office locations. It further strengthens our regional presence and supports our ambition to be a leading provider of integrated legal, wealth management and tax services across the East Midlands.”
Operating from ten offices, Chattertons employs a team of more than 230 legal and financial professionals. The acquisition of Double & Megson is described as forming part of the firm’s wider growth strategy and a move that strengthens its integrated offering of legal, wealth management and tax advisory services.
The deal continues a period of acquisitive growth in the region for the firm, which acquired Page Nelson and JGQC in Lincoln last year.
